TABLE to TABLE
Table to Table, modeled after New York City's City Harvest, "rescues food" to be distributed to soup kitchens, food pantries, senior citizen centers, homeless shelters and other places that serve those in need. It collects excess, unsold food from catered events, corporate cafeterias, army bases, food manufacturers, grocers, farms, and packing houses. Through its gleaning program, volunteers from all over the world travel to farms to harvest produce left unharvested. Every week, Table to Table collects over 10,000 meals, 40 tons of fruits and vegetables, and tens of thousands of fresh products. During the last war, Table to Table was able to deliver directly food to people housed in shelters.
