Some of the folks who worked on the FHC moving day 12-19-06
thanks to all who assisted in the move and to those who planned and worked on setting up this day and the renovation work that we all will appreciate down the road. (As you know, I try not to put in names unless permitted.) You know who you are and it is appreciated. Shalom in FHC. Jeremy

See "That Time of Year" in NYC. The lyrics were co-written by Laurence -----, our former Hebrew School principal. It was a wonderful musical cabaret with songs all about this season - appropriate for Jews and non-Jews, adults and children. It only runs through this weekend at the York Theater on Lexingon and 54th. It can be checked out at YORKTHEATRE.org and there are student tickets. Thanks
Shalom. Jeremy

IN THE INTERIM
While we are looking for an editor for the Bulletin, I would like to continue to offer this blog as a place to post notices and information concerning FHC. I have done this in the past and am more tham willing to continue to do so, if necessary.
You will note that some of the recent postings have been for events and some pictures. You will also note that this blogger has not recently been writing commentary. I have not stopped doing so, rather, due to a very hectic professional and private life, time contraints have limited my independent writing time.
There are numerous issues I would like to write about, including Volunteerism, Gays and Gay Rabbis in the Conservative movement, the direction of the Conservative movement, the length and substance of the Conservative service, publicizing the renovation and the 50th Anniversary of the uptown shul to name a few. Hopefully I will have the time to hit some of these items.
May we all have a happy and healthy Chanuka and a joyous secular New Year.
Shalom. Jeremy

NOW ISRAEL EVENT READ BELOW
Help Restore the Beauty of Israel!
Work the Land!
Lend a Hand!
During the Lebanese War this past Summer a katushya rocket caused a fire which burned a good part of the wadi (nature preserve) in the heart of historic Rosh Pina in the beautiful Upper Galillee.
Now, a group from Northern Westchester has offered to help – physically and financially – with the restoration of the wadi. The Town Council of Rosh Pina is actively involved and very excited about a project which will tie two communities together, and will hopefully bring American Jews of all ages into closer contact with Israel and Israelis.
Our group will leave for Israel on the night February 14 and spend President’s Day weekend in Rosh Pina, returning on February 20. Those who want to stay longer can extend their stay in Israel since for many children that is a school vacation week.
If hosting the IDF soldiers left you eager to learn more, do more and connect more with Israel, then join us in this unique person to person experience of working the land and supporting Israel.
PARTICULARLY RECOMMENDED FOR TEENS AND CHILDREN.!!!!
